maybe i’m biased （because i practically grew up with his work） but miyazaki’s work found itself to be better work to enjoy。 although this book had provided the inspiration to the film， there’s something more entrancing about the film。 animations， of course， can be considered to be quite more captivating than descriptive words in a book， but the film had it all。however， characterization is BEAUTIFUL。 sophie’s character is so much more refreshing than the film。 i think there was so much more depth maybe i’m biased （because i practically grew up with his work） but miyazaki’s work found itself to be better work to enjoy。 although this book had provided the inspiration to the film， there’s something more entrancing about the film。 animations， of course， can be considered to be quite more captivating than descriptive words in a book， but the film had it all。however， characterization is BEAUTIFUL。 sophie’s character is so much more refreshing than the film。 i think there was so much more depth to the characters in this book than the film could possibly provide in a given time frame。but in the end， the film was the deal。 you can definitely go on with life without having to read this book， but you cannot go on without watching the film。 。。。more

I absolutely love this book。 Sophie， Howl and Michael are some of my very favorite characters and I love getting a chance to revisit them every other year or so。 Spells， witches， kings and wizards make up the characters of this story but overall， it’s a sense of wonder and following your heart that leads me to continue to reread it。 The movie follows a similar plot line with tweaks here and there to keep things in the cinematic line of true love。 But equals enjoyable。
